The story
The pitch, to myself
Nobody commissioned this one. It started as “what if each tribe had a completely different silhouette language” and turned into a full card game system before there was any reason to stop.
Building a cast
Each faction got its own shape grammar, palette and pose logic: sharp angles and cold colour for one tribe, rounded forms and warm tones for another, so you could recognise a card’s allegiance from across a table, face-down.
Why it matters
Client work has rules. This didn’t. It’s the project that keeps the illustration muscle honest.
