The story
Beyond the postcard
Every tourism brochure about Mauritius reaches for the same three shots: turquoise water, a hammock, a sunset. This concept starts from the opposite instinct: market stalls, volcanic rock, Creole signage, the parts of the island that don’t make the postcard but make the place.
Structure
A strict grid holds the piece together while the imagery breaks it: full-bleed spreads interrupted by tight, cropped detail shots, so the pacing feels like walking through a market rather than flipping through a catalogue.
Why it’s here
It’s the project closest to home, literally: a piece designed by someone who actually knows what Mauritius looks like without a filter on it.
