The story
The brief
Give a piece of living Mauritian heritage a visual identity that feels earned, not decorative. “Leritaz Maronaz” (Maroon heritage) carries real history. The brand couldn’t be loud for the sake of being loud. It had to be proud first.
The approach
The mark grew out of hand-drawn texture rather than a grid. Every shape was pushed slightly off-perfect on purpose, a reminder that this identity represents people, land and memory, not a product line. The palette pulls from earth, fire and ocean: warm reds, charcoal, and a sun-bleached gold that reads as heritage rather than trend.
Typography does the heavy lifting where the mark stays quiet: a display face with weight and grain, paired with a plain-spoken sans for anything that needs to be read at a glance.
What it became
A flexible system that holds up printed on textile, carved into signage, or reduced to a single-colour stamp, because an identity this rooted needed to survive outside a screen.
